| Whisky Cats
Formed in Manchester in April 2004, the band has cemented their status as one of the most exciting and original live acts, with relentless gigging across the country. In 2005 they supported bands, including Arctic Monkeys, Mystery Jets, Misty's Big Adventure, Quantic Soul Orchestra and played before Gilles Peterson at Fruitstock, a free festival in Regents Park, London. The single launch of In This Chair, released on their own imprint Medical Records in November 2005, was accompanied by their first nationwide tour. Airplay on numerous local and national radio stations followed, with Phill Jupitus backing the band on BBC 6 Music's breakfast show and "whispering" Bob Harris describing Whiskycats' debut single In This Chair as "excellent...so original" on his Radio 2 programme.
